Former Illinois defensive tackle Chunky Clements has landed on an NFL roster.

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that the franchise as signed former Illini defensive tackle Chunky Clements, adding some size to the line. In order to make room, the organization waived defensive tackle Johnny Robinson.

Clements first entered the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, signing as an undrafted free agent in 2017. The former Illinois standout was cut before the start of the regular season, however. Clements has had previous stops with the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Rams, primarily in a practice squad role. He did play in two games while with the Texans in 2017.

Most recently, Clements spent time with the Arizona Hotshots of the now defunct Alliance of American Football (AAF).

Clements was one of the top defensive lineman at Illinois during his career and had a solid senior campaign in 2016, totaling 36 tackles, seven for loss and 3.5 sacks in 11 games. For his career, Clements tallied 99 stops, 25.5 tackles for loss and six sacks.
