Illinois will be without its star player once again.

An hour before Tuesday night’s tip-off between No. 4 Illinois and No. 2 Michigan, the Fighting Illini announced that Ayo Dosunmu will not play. He is still out with a facial injury he sustained in last week’s 81-72 loss to Michigan State. Derek Piper of 247Sports reported the news.

This will be the third game Dosunmu has missed since the injury. The Fighting Illini have still managed to defeat Nebraska and Wisconsin without their star on the floor. Michigan will be a different test, though.

Dosunmu is averaging a team-best 21 points and 5.3 assists per game, as well as 6.3 rebounds. He’s shooting 48.6% from the floor and 40% from the 3-point line.

Illinois enters the game with an 18-6 record and a 14-4 mark in B1G play, ranking second in the conference. Michigan is the B1G’s top team with a 13-1 league record and 18-1 overall.
