Ford joins a re-tooled secondary as he’s the 5th defensive back to join the Illini this offseason. Previously, Illinois added Southern Illinois safety Clayton Bush, Florida International safety Demetrius Hill, Louisville safety Nicario Harper and JUCO cornerback Kaleb Patterson. The Illini went to work for replacements after they lost 4 starting defensive backs to the NFL, led by Devon Witherspoon at No. 5 overall.
