Another Illinois basketball player has decided to explore his options outside of Champaign.

On Wednesday, Brendan Quinn of The Athletic reported that Illinois guard Tevian Jones has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. He is the second Illini basketball player in two days to put his name in the database.

Tuesday, Alan Griffin announced he would explore his options, as well. Griffin was the team’s leading scorer off the bench, averaging 8.9 points per game for Brad Underwood’s squad.

Jones appeared in 10 games for the Fighting Illini in the 2019-20 season, recording just 53 minutes of action. He averaged 0.9 points and 0.8 rebounds per game for the season.

It’s unclear if Jones has a specific destination in mind. He is a former four-star prospect.
