Report: Ayo Dosunmu's status for Nebraska game in jeopardy due to injury
Illinois was on a roll until Tuesday’s game against Michigan State and the Illini are reportedly dealing with an injury to Ayo Dosunmu in addition to losing that game.
The Spartans hit the court on fire playing at home against Illinois and built a 10-point lead heading to halftime. After the break, Michigan State did enough to hold on for the 81-72 win, snapping a seven-game winning streak for the Illini.
Toward the end of the contest, Michigan State big man Mady Sissoko was ejected for a flagrant-2 foul after hitting Dosunmu in the face. According to a report on Thursday, Dosunmu suffered a broken nose as a result of that play.
Brian Hamilton with The Athletic reported the news of Dosunmu’s injury. Hamilton indicated he has been fit for a mask, but the status of Dosunmu for Thursday’s contest against Nebraska is undecided:
Illinois star Ayo Dosunmu has a broken nose, a source confirmed to The Athletic. He's been fitted for a mask but it's unclear when the potential All-American will return to the floor for the No. 5 Illini, who host Nebraska tonight. Dosunmu suffered the injury at Michigan State.

Hopefully the injury does not derail what has been a brilliant stretch of basketball for Dosunmu. He has two triple-doubles in recent action and is a true leader for the Illini.
After the game against Nebraska, Illinois finishes the regular season with road games against Wisconsin, Michigan, and Ohio State. They will need all hands on deck for that stretch of action.
