Ra’Von Bonner was a three-star running back out of Cincinnati, Ohio who committed to play at Illinois despite being offered by the University of Iowa. Now the senior has announced he will be transferring out of Illinois and looking to play his final season as a feature back at another school.

According to Shannon Ryan at the Chicago Tribune, Bonner sat out this season because of concerns related to the Covid-19 virus but feels the decision is being held against him by coaches and authorities within the program.

Bonner told Ryan he believed he would not be “welcomed back” next season and because of that was seeking a new start elsewhere.

The news of Bonner’s decision broke within the last hour and no further information was immediately available on who Bonner could see himself playing for or which programs may have an interest in the 5’11, 220 running back out of Sycamore High School.
