Skyy Clark has decided to take his talents to the ACC. Clark, a former top-35 recruit, announced Thursday that he will transfer from Illinois to Louisville.
Clark tweeted his Louisville commitment shortly after Illinois’ season came to an end with an NCAA Tournament loss to Auburn.
today I am excited to announce my commitment to the University of Louisville. I am ready to play for Coach Kenny Payne and the city of Louisville. The time is now to chase my dream with Coach KP and staff but even bigger than that, the dream for Louisville Basketball! pic.twitter.com/DuK79Ebazl

Clark has been away from the Illinois basketball team for over 2 months. On Jan. 7 Brad Underwood released a statement on Clark’s absence:
“Skyy has made the decision to take some time away from basketball. He remains a valued part of our program and will continue to receive full support. Skyy is a thoughtful, caring young man who right now needs to prioritize himself and his family. This is bigger than basketball. We understand that and stand with him every step of the way.”
With the Illini, Clark played in 13 games, making 12 starts. He averaged 7 points and 2.1 assists over 24.5 points per game. Less than a week ago, it was reported that Clark was entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Clark is from Nashville and finished his high school career at the Montverde Academy in Florida, but he’s familiar with big-time basketball in the Bluegrass State. He committed to Kentucky in 2020 and even signed to play for John Calipari’s Kentucky program in 2021, but had a change of heart in March 2022 and landed at Illinois.
