Bret Bielema will test out the vocal cords at Wrigley Field later this month.
Illinois’ athletic department has announced that Bielema will be in attendance at Wrigley Field on Sunday, July 25 as the Chicago Cubs host the Arizona Diamondbacks. While the school is hosting a pregame party before the start of the 2021 college football season, Bielema will also be making an appearance at the Friendly Confines.
Bielema is scheduled to sing the famous 7th-inning stretch during the game. There was no mention of whether Bielema will be doing more with the Cubs during the game.
The game is scheduled for 1:20 p.m. CT.
Bielema is entering his first season as the head coach of the Fighting Illini, replacing Lovie Smith after five seasons. Bielema was previously the head coach at Wisconsin and Arkansas before returning to his home state of Illinois.
Illinois is scheduled to open the season on Saturday, Aug. 28 at home against Nebraska in Week 0.
