WATCH: Illinois DB Kerby Joseph ejected for targeting against Akron
Not much has gone wrong for Illinois in their Week 1 matchup against Akron, as the Fighting Illini lead the Zips, 42-3, in the final few minutes of the third quarter. Their biggest problem of Week 1 has been a penalty that will make life harder next week.
Illinois sophomore defensive back Kerby Joseph received an ejection during the third quarter for targeting.

It was a tough call because Akron quarterback Kato Nelson appeared to drop his helmet upon the point of contact, but Joseph did seem to lower his helmet and nailed Nelson in the head.
With the ejection coming in the second half of Week 1, Joseph will not be able to play during the first half of next week’s game against UConn.

Stanley Green coming in the game. Think it's his first time on the field today.

UConn won just one game last season, but the Huskies already have a win in 2019, as they beat Wagner, 24-21, on Thursday.
