Illinois hasn’t been a phenomenal football team on the road in recent history, but on Saturday, the Fighting Illini are traveling to take on Rutgers — another team that has struggled altogether in 2018.

The Scarlet Knights jumped out to an early 7-3 lead, but since then, Illinois has taken over. The Fighting Illini led 10-7 early in the second quarter and QB A.J. Bush decided to display his speed, helping extend his team’s lead in the process.

Bush ran for 41 yards for this TD and Illinois has since added another score. Illinois now leads 24-7 midway through the second quarter.

Both Illinois and Rutgers are looking for its first Big Ten wins of the season as the Fighting Illini are 0-1 and the Scarlet Knights are 0-2 in conference play.
