WATCH: Reggie Corbin punches it across the goal line for Illinois' first TD
The Illini are on the scoreboard in 2019.
On the first drive of the game, Illinois racked up 63 yards on 10 plays, capped by a three-yard touchdown run by Reggie Corbin. The score gave the Illini an early 7-0 advantage on Akron to open the year.
A pretty good way for the Illini to start the fourth year of the Lovie Smith era.

Corbin is coming off a year in which he rushed for 1,085 yards. With him in the backfield and Brandon Peters under center, many think Illinois can compete for bowl eligibility this season.
Corbin rushed five times for 35 yards to open the game.
