Luke Ford wasn’t targeted much in Illinois’ offense a year ago, but the tight end showed what he’s capable of doing when the ball is thrown his direction on Monday night.

In the final quarter of Illinois’ spring game on Monday, Ford made an impressive one-handed touchdown catch thrown by Isaiah Williams. In a game that was full of impressive plays, Ford had one of the highlights of the night.

Initially committing to Georgia out of high school, Ford transferred to Illinois after the 2018 season. He was forced to sit out the 2019 campaign due to NCAA transfer policies and was finally able to get on the field last season.

Ford ended the year with 2 catches for 15 yards. But if he’s capable of making plays like that one-handed touchdown catch on a regular basis, he’ll see the field a lot more this fall. He’ll see the ball thrown is direction quite a bit, too.
