A 12th B1G team has produced a selection in this year’s NFL Draft.

In the fifth round, Indiana linebacker was selected by the New York Giants with the No. 146 overall pick. He was the first B1G player taken in the round and the first out of Indiana to be picked, as well.

McFadden proved to be a bright spot on an Indiana team that fell short of expectations. He racked up a team-best 77 tackles, including 15.5 for loss and 6.5 sacks. The Hoosiers linebacker was also responsible for 5 quarterback hurries, 3 pass break-ups, 2 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.

Landing in the fifth round is a bit of a surprise as many had McFadden projected as a sixth- or seventh-round selection. But he proved to be the heart-and-soul of Indiana’s defense the past two seasons and has had the production to match.

Over the last four years at Indiana, McFadden piled up 216 tackles with 36 for loss and 14 sacks. He also had 4 interceptions, recording 2 in 2019 and 2020.
