Tom Allen might have just worked his way into a contract extension at Indiana following his latest success on the recruiting trail.

On Monday, Indiana received a commitment from four-star wide receiver Rashawn Williams, a native of Detroit. He became the third player to commit to the Hoosiers’ 2020 recruiting class and is the highest-rated recruit currently to commit to IU.

Well, actually, Williams is the highest-ranked player to ever commit to Indiana since keeping track of recruiting/player rankings. That’s a pretty significant victory on the recruiting trail for Allen and Co.

Williams made his decision via Twitter saying, “I’d love to announce my commitment to Indiana University.”

Allen has done an incredibly well on the recruiting trail during his time at Indiana. He’s landed four of Indiana’s top 10 recruits all-time, which includes Sampson James (2019), Beau Robbins (2019), Cameron Williams (2019) and now Williams (2020).

Per 247Sports, Williams is listed as the No. 33 wide receiver in the 2020 recruiting class and ranks as the third-best player out of the state of Michigan. Overall, he’s ranked No. 166 in the class.

Williams had offers from more than two dozen schools, including six B1G programs. He chose IU over Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Maryland, Minnesota and others.
