Indiana receiver Ty Fryfogle had a breakout campaign in 2020.

Last season, he caught 37 passes for 721 yards and 7 touchdowns across IU’s eight game campaign. That represented a career-high in yards and touchdowns for a single season.

Entering this year, Big Ten Network analyst Joshua E. Perry believes Fryfogle is one of the best players in the entire conference. He ranked him at No. 8 in his “JP30” series.

“He’s a guy who obviously had some good production in 2020. He leveled it up and he had that coming out party against Ohio State,” Perry said. “He let the world know who he was. 3 touchdowns in that game. Many more fantastic performances. This year is going to be big for him to stack up more performances on top of that. If I’m a coordinator right now I’m trying to find ways to stop him. Is it a double team, press coverage? Whatever it is, the Big Ten is on notice: That man can make plays.”

Against the Buckeyes, Fryfogle led Indiana with seven catches for 218 yards and 3 touchdowns as the Hoosiers played Ohio State as well as anyone else in the Big Ten last year.

Fryfogle and the Hoosiers will get another shot at Ohio State on Oct. 23. Indiana opens its season on Sept. 4 against Iowa.
