Former Indiana TE Bolser retires from NFL
There won’t be any more touchdowns for “Touchdown Teddy.”
The former Indiana tight end announced on Wednesday that knee injuries forced his retirement from the NFL. Formerly of the Arizona Cardinals, Bolser tweeted this today:
I just had surgery this morning on my right knee and because of the rigorous/GREAT 18 years of football/other sports & a recent injury….

I'm incapable of playing the sport I fell in love with back when I was 6 years old. I want to thank everyone involved with me and this sport

Well, I have too many people to thank for my football career. I had just recently been released from the Cardinals due to injury.

Widely considered the best offensive tight end in Indiana history, Bolser was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL draft.
He spent the fall on the Redskins’ practice squad and assumed the same role in Tampa Bay, and this year was trying to crack the Cardinals roster.
Among tight ends, Bolser holds IU records in career catches (117), yards (1,337) and touchdowns (15). He received honorable mention All-Big Ten as a senior in 2013.
