According to Rivals.com’s Stuart Jackson,  Indiana receiver Simmie Cobbs was arrested and charged with refusal to identify and resisting law enforcement on Saturday night.

Jackson reported that Cobbs was booked in Hamilton County Jail at 10:24 p.m. on Saturday night by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

Cobbs was looking to bounce back in 2017 after he missed nearly all of 2016 with an ankle injury. He received a medical redshirt for the lost season.

In 2015, Cobbs finished third in the B1G in receiving yards (1,035) and eighth in receptions (60). The breakout sophomore season earned him honorable mention All-B1G honors.

Cobbs was expected to be a go-to target for Richard Lagow after making a full recovery from last year’s injury. It’s uncertain what kind of punishment Cobbs will face from the team as a result of his arrest.

Indiana released a statement on Cobbs’ arrest.

“Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of redshirt junior Simmie Cobbs Jr. We will continue to gather facts, monitor the legal process and take action as the evolving situation warrants.”

UPDATE: According to the Indianapolis Star, Cobbs was arrested for refusing to clear the aisle at a Jason Aldean concert in Noblesville, Ind. Cobbs was brought to the venue’s security center for “not complying with security personnel attempting to clear aisles during the concert.” He refused to take a breathalyzer test for alcohol, and he refused to identify himself, which led to his arrest.
