Curt Cignetti delivers proud message to IU students: 'We felt your energy'
Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers moved to 5-0 on the season as they defeated Maryland by a score of 42-28 on Saturday.
The weather was nasty in Bloomington for the game, but that didn’t stop the Hoosiers fans from coming out and playing a big part of the game.
After the big win, the 1st-year coach sent a message to the student body of IU, thanking them for their support throughout the game.

On Friday, Cignetti urged the Hoosiers to put their weekend plans on hold and come out and support the team. In the letter, he emphasized that despite the weather and the football not being perfect, the student body was.
The score was tied at 21 with 40 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter, but Indiana scored the next 21 points to pull away for the victory. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke continued his strong play, as he threw for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Despite getting the win, the Hoosiers still had some issues, especially with the weather. They turned the ball over 4 times, but Maryland wasn’t able to capitalize and get the win.
Indiana has been a surprising team in the B1G with the Hoosiers still undefeated and 1 win away from becoming bowl eligible. Up next for the Hoosiers is a game at Northwestern next weekend.
