Curt Cignetti speaks to Indiana's identity after 9-0 start: 'We're never satisfied'
Curt Cignetti and the Indiana Hoosiers found themselves in a different situation against Michigan State as they were trailing on the scoreboard for the first time this season. Trailing 10-0 early in the game, the Hoosiers responded by scoring the last 47 points of the game to secure a 47-10 win against the Spartans.
After moving to 9-0 with the win, Cignetti said the team showed something by battling back from its first deficit of the season.
“I thought we did a great job,” Cignetti said. “Down 10-0. Michigan State made some plays… they came out and were impressive. I kind of reminded the offense we had a lot of football to play, and our guys responded the way we had to.”
The first-year coach brought an attitude and a nastiness to Bloomington that has become the identity of the Hoosiers.
“We’re relentless,” Cignetti said. “We play disciplined, poised and played first play to last play. We play as a team and we’re never satisfied.”
The Hoosiers will look to continue its undefeated season next week as they host the Michigan Wolverines. If Indiana is able to get through that game, then the Hoosiers will be undefeated heading into the November 23 showdown at Ohio State.
