Dick Vitale has a message for John Calipari and Mike Woodson: renew the Kentucky-Indiana rivalry.

Kentucky and Gonzaga recently agreed to a home-and-home series. Vitale reacted by calling for Calipari and Woodson to agree to future games between the Wildcats and Hoosiers.

In May, Woodson told Zach Osterman of the Indianapolis Star that he reached out to Cal about bringing the series back:

“I’m gonna stay on his heels about trying to get the Kentucky-Indiana series back on the table. Over the years, that was a helluva game. It might not be Bloomington-Lexington. However we’ve got to get it done, I’ll take it.”

The teams faced each other annually from 1969 to 2011. The last regular-season meeting took place on Dec. 10, 2011, in Assembly Hall, when Indiana won 73-72. The last 2 meetings have been in the NCAA Tournament. UK won 102-90 on March 23, 2012, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. Indiana won the most recent meeting, 73-67 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa on March 19, 2016.

Kentucky leads the all-time series 32-25.
