Donaven McCulley, Indiana stun Michigan with brilliant trick play TD

Donaven McCulley is no stranger to throwing the ball. The former quarterback turned big-body wide receiver for Indiana has a strong arm, and he got a chance to show it off against Michigan.
Facing the Wolverines in Ann Arbor, the Hoosiers have been able to generate some drives against a traditionally strong defense. Indiana even used McCulley’s time as a QB to catch Michigan off guard with a trick play.
That trick play began with what looked to be a WR screen with a pass to McCulley near the sideline. But, instead of running it, McCulley looked downfield for Jaylin Lucas.
Lucas was running free with McCulley’s throw on the money for a 44-yard touchdown — and an early 7-0 lead in Ann Arbor.

McCulley is listed at 6-foot-5 and 200 pounds and threw for 475 yards and 2 touchdowns in limited action as a true freshman QB in 2021. In the past 2 seasons, McCulley has transitioned to WR, but he showed his arm is still for real and a weapon the Hoosiers can dial up.
