After pursuing his dream as a professional football player, Matt Mayberry has accomplished a new feat.

The former Indiana Hoosiers linebacker, who hung up the helmet and shoulder pads after just one NFL game with the Chicago Bears, has authored a book set to release on Sept. 6.

Mayberry ended his football career in 2010 and has since founded Matt Mayberry Enterprises, a company focused on motivational speaking and positive coaching.

Indiana University’s website briefly detailed the book:

WINNING PLAYS: Tackling Adversity and Achieving Success in Business and in Life. The book, which will be released on September 6, covers his experiences in tackling adversity through his biggest failures that he was eventually able to turn into his most impressive successes.

Mayberry played for the Hoosiers from 2006-2009, tallying 251 tackles, 10.5 sacks and three interceptions for his career. In his senior season, he was an All-B1G selection.

The school’s athletic website also stated that Mayberry has been heavily involved with the program since 2010. You can read the full article here.
