Former Indiana quarterback Antwaan Randle El was presented with the B1G Ford-Kinnick Leadership Award at the conference’s championship game on Saturday night.

The conference announced that Randle El was the award winner in late November. He is the first Hoosier to receive the award.

Randle El played at Indiana from 1997-2001.

The Ford-Kinnick Leadership Award honors students who have achieved success in the areas of leadership and humanitarianism following their academic and athletic careers at a B1G school.

Randle El is also on the ballot to join the College Football Hall of Fame in 2019. He was named a first-team All-American in 2001 and was the B1G’s Most Valuable Player, as well.

He went on to have a 10-year NFL career.
