Nate Sudfeld has found his next destination, signing a one-year deal to stay in the NFL for 2021.

Indiana’s all-time leading passer, Sudfeld had been with the Philadelphia Eagles since 2017. Wednesday evening, the San Francisco 49ers announced they had signed Sudfeld to a one-year deal.

Sudfeld was drafted by the Washington Football Team in 2016 but did not see any action in his rookie season. He wound up with the Eagles in 2017 and appeared in very limited action from 2017-20. In his NFL career, Sudfeld has completed 25 of 37 passes for 188 yards and a touchdown.

While at Indiana, Sudfeld threw for a program record of 7,879 yards and 61 touchdowns from 2012-15.

The addition of Sudfeld for the 49ers is certainly an interesting one. San Francisco already has Jimmy Garoppolo on board and just traded up to the No. 3 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, presumably to select a QB of the future. Hopefully, Sudfeld is able to break training camp as a part of the NFL roster.
