Indiana secured its first signature upset Thursday evening, taking down No. 4 Iowa in Iowa City.

Behind a strong defensive effort in the second half, the Hoosiers outscored Iowa by 18 points coming out of the break. It was an impressive display as Indiana pulled away for the win.

Among the key plays in the second half was one beautiful pick-and-roll play by freshman Jordan Geronimo. A true freshman that has seen limited playing time, Geronimo was effective in 10 minutes against the Hawkeyes.

On this play, Geronimo set a perfect hard screen before rolling to the bucket and getting the pass with a clear lane. He elevated and threw it down with authority:

Geronimo was appearing in his 10th game of the season and chipped in a career-high seven points on 3-for-3 shooting from the field. He also added a rebound and an assist for the Hoosiers.

It was the first night of scoring for Geronimo since the Dec. 26 game against Illinois. Hopefully this is a strong showing the freshman can build on for the stretch run of the season.

Geronimo joined Indiana as a four-star recruit and the second-highest recruit in Indiana’s 2020 class.
