College GameDay nearly wound up in Bloomington two years ago for the showdown against Ohio State.

This time, GameDay will be in the house.

Indiana announced that the popular ESPN pregame show will be live at Memorial Stadium before the season-opening showdown against the Buckeyes.

That will mark the first time in school history that the show did its live broadcast from Bloomington.

GameDay is still planning on being in Atlanta on Saturday night for the Alabama-Florida State opener, but with IU-OSU game falling on a Thursday, that allowed GameDay to do a rare double dip.

It’ll mark the third straight year in which GameDay opened at the site of a B1G game. GameDay was at Wisconsin’s neutral-site season-opening games against Alabama in 2015 and LSU in 2016.

Tom Allen already said that this was the “biggest home opener” in Indiana history. It’s also his regular season debut as a head coach.

With GameDay opening in Bloomington, it’s safe to say it can’t get much bigger than that.
