Tom Crean and Georgia have suffered through a difficult season, and according to a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Crean and the Bulldogs will part ways at the end of the season.

The Bulldogs, sitting with a 6-25 record and 1-17 in the SEC, are set to play Vanderbilt to open the SEC Tournament. The Commodores, who already beat Georgia twice this season, are heavily favored to win again.

After overseeing the losingest season in the history of Georgia basketball, all indications are that Crean and the Bulldogs will part ways after the season concludes, according to multiple people with knowledge of the situation. However, an official decision has not been made.

Crean’s buyout reportedly drops from $7.2 million, to $3.2 million at the end of the season. He originally signed a 6-year deal worth $19.8 million.

Under Crean, Georgia has gone 11-21, 16-16, 14-12 and now 6-25.

Before Georgia, Crean Crean was 356-231 record in 18 combined seasons at Marquette and Indiana from 1999-2017. Those teams reached postseason play during 13 of those campaigns, with 9 NCAA appearances and 4 NIT bids. Crean led Marquette to the 2003 NCAA Final Four and reached four Sweet 16s at Marquette and Indiana. All told, Crean’s teams have been ranked in the Associated Press and/or USA Today polls during 12 seasons, including top-10 finishes in 2003 (No. 6), 2013 (No. 7) and 2016 (No. 9), according to his Georgia bio.
