Heavily-recruited Alabama with 5 SEC offers commits to Indiana
Indiana has landed a talented wide receiver prospect from the heart of SEC country.
Tuesday, 3-star wide receiver Malachi Bennett announced on Twitter that he has committed to IU, a late-but-welcomed addition to the 2021 recruiting class. Bennett is listed as a 6-foot-2, 180-pound wide receiver out of Fairfield, Alabama. He picked the Hoosiers over offers from 18 other programs.
Bennett’s announcement comes on the eve of National Signing Day, scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 3. That will be the date by which nearly all of the 2021 recruiting class has committed and signed to a program — though most of it was done during the Early Signing Period in December.
