Indiana fell 42-35 to Ohio State on Saturday afternoon, but not before giving the Buckeyes a scare.
Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. threw for 497 yards and five touchdowns in the loss. His only blemish on the day was a pick-six that extended Ohio State’s lead in the second half.
The Hoosiers are now 4-1 on the season and still have plenty to play for. This performance likely means they won’t drop too much in the polls and could still end up in a New Year’s 6 bowl this season. Maryland is the only other team in the Big Ten East with fewer than three losses.
Here’s what Indiana coach Tom Allen said after the loss:
Tom Allen says his message to his team was about their second-half fight to win the game and battling "to the very, very end."
"Proud of the heart, the toughness of this team .. you got a chance to see they truly are special." #iufb
