Indiana has added some East Coast flavor to its 2020 recruiting class.
On Thursday, the Hoosiers nabbed a commitment from three-star athlete Javon Swinton out of Stafford, Virginia. He becomes the 12th player to provide a verbal pledge to IU this cycle.
Swinton posted his announcement via Twitter.
“Thank you to all the coaches that instilled knowledge in me during this recruiting process and a huge shoutout to North Nation for showing me nothing but love and support during this journey,” Swinton wrote. “With that being said, I’d like to announce my commitment to Indiana University!”

According to 247Sports’ Composite rankings, Swinton is ranked as the No. 30 player out of Virginia and is one of the top 125 players listed as an athlete this cycle. At 6-foot-1, 160-pounds, Swinton adds some versatility to the Hoosiers’ class.
Swinton chose Indiana over offers from Marshall, UMass, Old Dominion, South Carolina, Syracuse, Temple and Virginia Tech.
Indiana currently sits at No. 12 in the B1G recruiting rankings. Nationally, the Hoosiers are No. 60.
