Hoosiers get big-time commitment from 4-star, in-state SG
Archie Miller got two big victories on Sunday.
Hours after Indiana upset No. 8 Iowa thanks to a late jumper from Armaan Franklin to lift the Hoosiers to a 67-65 win, IU received big news on the recruiting trail. Indianapolis native and 4-star shooting guard CJ Gunn has committed to the program.
Gunn made his announcement Sunday night with a post on Twitter. The 6-foot-5, 175-pound guard is a member of the 2022 recruiting class and is ranked as the No. 4 player out of Indiana. He also sits as the No. 14 shooting guard and is just outside the Top 100 prospects in the class, coming in at No. 107.

Gunn picked Indiana over offers from Cincinnati, Missouri, Kansas State and Xavier. From 247Sports’ director of basketball scouting Jerry Meyer:
Has solid size and smooth athleticism as a 6-5 shooting guard. Strong leaper off two feet which pays off on his pull up jumper and his rebounding. Prefers to go right and is primarily a straight line driver. Is a good three-point shooter. Average ball handler and passer. Is a conscientious defender.
Gunn is currently the only member of the 2022 recruiting class to commit to Indiana.
As a sophomore during the 2019-20 season at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Gunn averaged 7.1 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting better than 35% from 3-point land.
