A Miami athlete is heading to Bloomington to play college football.

Tuesday afternoon, Indiana received a verbal commitment from Phillip Dunnam, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound athlete out of Miami. He does not currently have any rankings from 247Sports, but he did receive 12 offers on the recruiting front.

Dunnam committed to IU over offers from Florida State, Syracuse, Middle Tennessee, Appalachian State, Central Michigan and others. The Hoosiers currently own the No. 24 class of 2022 and sit No. 6 in the B1G.

“I am extremely excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and football career at Indiana University!” Dunnam wrote. “I want to thank my family for all of their sacrfices, as well as my coaches and teammates for their support throughout this process.”

During the 2020 season, Dunnam was an All-Dad 5A-Ind. first-team player and played both the wide receiver and cornerback position while also serving as a return man. He totaled 710 yards and 10 touchdowns on 42 receptions in 7 games and was also credited with 3 interceptions on the defensive side.

Dunnam becomes the 13th player in the 2022 class to commit to Indiana and is the fourth prospect out of Florida to join.
