Indiana has come up with an interesting tool for student athletes and brands to use amidst the changing NIL landscape.
The Hoosiers announced a “first of its kind” student-athlete directory for NIL deals on Friday afternoon. The directory will be available to companies looking to contact student-athletes for NIL opportunities.
“As we move into this new landscape of intercollegiate athletics, we are committed to supporting our student-athletes’ efforts to maximize their NIL opportunities,” Indiana athletic director Scott Dolson said in a statement. “The IU Athletics NIL Directory is our latest effort to do just that. The directory offers interested parties a single location to visit to find the best ways to contact our student-athletes through their social media accounts. I’m confident that this will help both our student-athletes as well as these third-parties in expediting their NIL efforts and maximizing the opportunities on both sides.”
The directory is already live and has multiple avenues of contact available for all student-athletes at Indiana. The directory also includes links to IU’s NIL policy and other important information.
Several high-profile Indiana athletes could be in line for big pay days, including basketball player Trayce Jackson-Davis, quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and receiver Ty Fryfogle. The Hoosiers also have a 5-star freshman guard named Tamar Bates who could end up being a major NBA Draft prospect.
