Indiana had just one player listed on the availability report for Saturday’s game against the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, but it was a major loss.

The No. 8-ranked Hoosiers will be down a key offensive lineman in starting left guard Drew Evans, who suffered an Achilles injury during the practice week leading up to the contest against Michigan.

“The Indiana Football program announced on Saturday (Nov. 9) that redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Drew Evans will miss the remainder of the 2024 season due to an Achilles injury suffered during a practice this week,” the team said in a public statement posted to X (formerly Twitter).

This is the second major blow to a guard that Indiana has suffered in 2024, with Nick Kidwell ruled out for the season during fall camp. The redshirt sophomore Evans had started in all 9 games of the season, allowing just 3 quarterback pressures, according to Pro Football Focus.

He also led the Hoosiers in pass blocking (85.3). It will be interesting to see how Indiana adjusts missing such a key component up front as the team tries to maintain its pristine record as one of the only programs still undefeated in the country.

Indiana and Michigan are set to kick of at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday.
