Indiana football went 5-7 overall and 2-7 in Big Ten play one season ago.
The Hoosiers had some people believing they could surprise a few teams in the Big Ten, but a season opening 28-point loss to Ohio State spoke to what would ensue. The 2018 season could be one where the Hoosiers turn things around.
On Tuesday, Indiana athletic director Fred Glass spoke to the media at a preseason press conference and had some interesting things to say:
Glass says if #iufb games could sell out each home game the department would earn $10 million more than it does now. https://t.co/37kPv7Djs3

Money makes the world go around. And, Glass believes in what he has done so far in his time at Indiana.
Glass feels strongly Memorial Stadium has made significant strides since he became AD, compared what it used to look like to a larger 6A high school stadium.

"We won't take a backseat to anyone in terms of facility."
Glass is pretty adamant in how positive he feels about IU's facilities.

Thinks some new facilities around the conference are actually catching up to IU's. Interesting.

Memorial Stadium is taking an extremely slightly step backward in terms of overall capacity.
The new capacity for Memorial Stadium is 52,656, a small drop from what it used to be at 52,929.

Speaking of money making the world go around:
Glass says the new helmets for #iufb cost $130,000 in total, medical staff calls them the safest out there.

Glass said IU Athletics' fiscal management has allowed it to create a reserve fund. Also reiterates that the department is financially independent from the university.

The team is more important than the individual.
IU football will no longer have the names of players on the back of their jerseys. "Team over self." #iufb

Getting to Indiana’s home opener shouldn’t be too big of an issue.
Working with INDOT and the governor, Glass says that all four lanes of I-69/IN-37 from Bloomington to Martinsville to Indianapolis will be open by home opener against Virginia.
