Indiana basketball announces key nonconference showdown in Las Vegas
Indiana basketball is heading west in the nonconference slate this season, playing a marquee opponent in Las Vegas during the 2022-23 schedule.
In a press release Tuesday, the Hoosiers revealed the team will face Arizona for the first time in the “Las Vegas Clash.” That game is set for Saturday, Dec. 10 and will have a prime-time broadcast on FOX.
“Our program is thrilled to have the opportunity to play Arizona in Las Vegas,” said head coach Mike Woodson. “We have fans throughout the country who are looking forward to making this trip between Thanksgiving and Christmas and I love the fact that two programs that have won a national championship will meet for the very first time. It should be one of the top non-conference matchups prior to conference play starting.”
UNLV will also face Washington State in the Vegas series. Tickets will officially go on sale this Saturday, Aug. 27.
Indiana made the NCAA Tournament in Mike Woodson’s first season leading the team and is looking to make another jump in Year 2. Star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis is back for his senior season with the program.
