After Mike Woodson’s first win as head coach of Indiana basketball, the first three signees of the class of 2022 soon followed. Indiana beat Eastern Michigan 68-62 on Tuesday night.

Jalen Hood-Schifino, Kaleb Banks, and CJ Gunn all signed with the Hoosiers on Wednesday. Hood-Schifino is the highest player out of the group as a 5-star combo guard. Banks is a 4-star power-forward, while Gunn is a 3-star shooting guard.

Indiana’s 2022 recruiting class is now ranked 16th in the country per the 247Sports team rankings.

The team welcomed all three players from their basketball account on Twitter Wednesday.

Indy Star’s Zach Osterman posted the coach’s comments on the recent recruiting success on Twitter. Here’s what Woodson had to say about the signees:

“I’m very excited to have these young men join our program and to have the opportunity to attend what I feel is the greatest University in this country,” said Woodson. “As a group, we are bringing in versatile players who have a great work ethic and tremendous attitudes and we believe they will continue to get better and improve themselves not only as players, but as people as well. They have been well-coached and want to be challenged. They’ll fit right in with who we have in the program and are excited to be a part of something special here at Indiana. I think our coaching staff has done an outstanding job of identifying players who can thrive in our environment athletically, socially, and academically and we welcome them and their families to Hoosier Nation.”

It looks like Woodson’s career at Indiana as head coach is moving in the right direction. The former Hoosier legend and top 5 scorer will coach against Northern Illinois with tipoff on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.
