Indiana’s men’s basketball team is in the big dance, but it was a couple of members from the cheerleading squad that produced One Shining Moment!

During Thursday’s game between Indiana and St. Mary’s, the ball was bounced and trapped on top of the goal. Freeing it proved difficult.

Trayce Jackson-Davis was not tall enough to reach it with a broom handle. An official with a broom on a chair was still not enough to get to it. Where did they turn? The Hoosiers cheerleading squad.

Here’s how it all went down:

The names of the cheerleaders involved are Cassidy Cerny and Nathan Paris, per Gregg Doyel with the Indy Star.

After the incident, reporter Andy Katz caught up with Cerny and Paris. Cerny admitted getting up that high “was nothing really” with the squad doing stunts daily. She also claimed to trust Paris “with her life” and was not daunted by the task.

That’s definitely a moment to remember from Indiana’s trip to the tournament!
