Indiana coach Archie Miller is appreciative to have a player and person the likes of Parker Stewart join the program.

The 6-foot-5 guard transferred to Indiana after the tragic death of his father Anthony Stewart, whom he played for at UT Martin. Stewart will wear No. 45 to honor his late father.

Stewart selected Indiana over offers from Arkansas, Kansas State and Memphis.

In a statement, Miller explained that he’s grateful to have Stewart for potentially two seasons.

Stewart will enroll after Christmas and get acclimated within the program.

Stewart averaged 19.2 points and 3.8 assists last season to earn second-team All-Ohio Valley honors. Stewart began his collegiate career at Pitt, where he averaged 9.1 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 42 percent from three-point range during ACC play as a freshman.
