One key part of winning recruiting — no matter what school it is — is winning your own state.

If you’re Michigan, you have to win the state of Michigan and get the best prospects from your state to go to your school. After all, that should be your bread and butter. What other state would be?

For Indiana, it is no different. Head coach Tom Allen believes in this saying and expressed as much on Thursday at Big Ten Media Days:

Not only does Allen want to get every Indiana prospect he wants. But if a prospect chooses another school over Indiana, he said the Hoosiers will “beat your tail.” That’s some fiery stuff coming from Allen and an Indiana team that has gone 5-7 overall the past two seasons with him in charge.

Indiana’s 2019 season begins on Aug. 31 against Ball State at Lucas Oil Stadium.
