Indiana defender, member of 2021 recruiting class, opts for transfer portal
With spring practices beginning to wind down across the country, the transfer portal is bound to see a bit more action as we head toward May. With that in mind, Indiana has seen one player hit the transfer portal.
Thursday evening, the Hoosiers saw a member of the defense enter the portal in Maurice Freeman. A member of the 2021 recruiting class, Freeman appeared in 3 games and redshirted as a true freshman.

Coming out of high school, Freeman was a 3-star safety out of Chesapeake, Virginia with other offers from Illinois, Georgia Tech and Appalachian State, among others. He was the No. 18 prospect out of Virginia for the class of 2021.
Freeman’s collegiate debut came in action against Western Kentucky. He earned Indiana’s Defensive Scout Team Player of the Week before the season opener against Iowa and the Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Week before the game against Cincinnati.
