Indiana defensive lineman decides to enter NCAA transfer portal
An Indiana defensive lineman has decided to explore options outside of Bloomington to complete his college football career.
On Monday morning, 6-foot-5, 215-pound defensive lineman Madison Norris announced via Twitter that he will be considering options outside of Indiana to pursue a college football career. He had just completed his second season with the program and is a rising redshirt sophomore.
“I wanna thank the coaches and staff and Indiana University for everything that they have done for me,” Norris wrote on Twitter. “But after talks with my family and coaches I have decided to put my name into the NCAA transfer portal.”
Norris was a member of Indiana’s 2018 recruiting class and was ranked as a three-star weak-side defensive end out of high school. He was one of the top 50 players at his position in the recruiting cycle and was the No. 10 player from the state of Indiana.
In two seasons, Norris played in two career games for the Hoosiers. He appeared in a game against Maryland in 2018 and participated in IU’s victory over Eastern Illinois in 2019. Norris did not record any statistics.
The Hoosiers finished the 2019 season with an 8-5 record.
