Indiana added another transfer to its 2023 roster on Monday night.

The Hoosiers picked up a commitment from Southern University transfer EDGE Trey Laing.

Here’s his announcement:

Laing has been with several programs during his collegiate career. He initially enrolled at South Florida as part of the Bulls’ 2018 recruiting class. He then transferred to East Mississippi Community College and played there until finding a spot at Southern prior to the 2022 campaign.

Last season for Southern, Laing recorded 38 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 5 sacks.

Indiana is now up to 21 transfers so far in the 2023 cycle. Tom Allen and his staff have prioritized the portal this cycle as the Hoosiers look to make it back to bowl eligibility for the first time since 2020.

Laing will be entering his 6th season of college football. The 2023 season will be his final year of eligibility. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 2024 pounds and is originally from Tallahassee, Fla.
