Indiana football on precipice of embarrassing all-time history

Indiana football has been around since the late 1800s. Playing that long lends itself to some wild records, but the Hoosiers are approaching one that would be rather disappointing for a major college football program.
According to RedditCFB, the Hoosier program enters 2022 with an all-time record of 502-695-45 over 137 seasons played. Unfortunately, with 5 losses in 2022, Indiana would become the first FBS program in the history of college football to lose 700 games.
Indiana went 2-10 last season.
Indiana is 5 loses away from becoming the first FBS team to pass 700 loses.
There are potentially 2 mutually exclusive options:
• 7⃣0⃣0⃣ Losses

To be clear, 5 losses in 2022 would not automatically be a bad thing for Indiana in 2022. If the program could go 7-5, that would be a huge bounce back for Tom Allen and company and would guarantee a bowl game for the program.
Then again, if the Hoosiers open the season on the wrong side of things, Indiana could have 5 wins with a large chunk of the schedule still to come.
We’ll see how things shape up once the action hits the field. Indiana faces Illinois in Week 1.
