A current Indiana defender and a former Indiana player were arrested on felony drug charges on Friday.

According to IndyStar.com, current DB Johnny Albomonte and former DB Thomas Henderson (who retired from football in January) were arrested by the Bloomington Police Department for dealing drugs.

In an email to the newspaper, Capt. Steve Kellams of the BPD said detectives had successfully purchased drugs from the players on multiple occasions and about a pound of marijuana was found on the scene:

“Detectives within the special investigations unit received and began an investigation regarding this residence,” Kellams said in an email. “Detectives purchased drugs on multiple occasions over the last month.”

“Both students admitted to dealing marijuana,” Kellams said in the same email. “Approximately one pound of marijuana, THC wax, prescription drugs and approximately $3,500 in U.S. currency was seized in the search. Both subjects were booked into the Monroe County jail.”

Indiana issued a brief statement saying it was aware of the arrest of Albomonte, who is still on the football roster.

Whether he remains on the team after this arrest has yet to be decided.
