Indiana freshman DL from recruiting powerhouse has been cleared, is practicing

Indiana isn’t expected to compete for the Big Ten East division title or B1G Championship. However, recruiting better players and student-athletes into your system to make your program better can catapult you into a better spot.
Tom Allen and the Hoosiers are trying to do this, of course, and freshman DL Antoine Whitner — listed as an athlete in high school — is from IMG Academy in Florida, a school that commonly churns out high-profile recruits year in and year out.
Unfortunately, it took a long time for Whitner to actually be be cleared. As of a couple weeks ago, Indiana was still waiting to hear if Whitner would be good to go or not.
On Thursday, the good news finally came:

Indiana’s 2019 season is slated to begin on Aug. 31 at home against Ball State.
