Indiana gets signature from 4-star in-state WR on final day of Early Signing Period
Omar Cooper is officially a Hoosier.
Friday afternoon, the 4-star wide receiver out of Indianapolis signed on the dotted line, making his commitment to Indiana official. Cooper has been committed to the program since giving his verbal pledge back in July.
Cooper received 18 offers on the recruiting trail and selected Indiana over multiple FBS offers. He’s one of the highest-ranked members of the Hoosiers’ 2022 class, coming in at No. 311 nationally. Cooper is also listed as the No. 45 wide receiver of the cycle.

During his high school career at Lawrence North in Indianapolis, Cooper totaled over 2,800 receiving yards and caught 22 touchdown passes. He was one of the priority targets for the Hoosiers during this recruiting cycle and was a big in-state recruit.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver is a member of a Top 20 recruiting class for the Hoosiers, one that ranks No. 4 in the B1G through the Early Signing Period. Tom Allen and his staff have done an incredible job considering IU’s 2-10 campaign in 2021.
