Indiana junior running back dives into NCAA transfer portal
Another Hoosier is taking a dive into the NCAA transfer portal.
Rising junior running back Ronnie Walker has entered his name into the database, allowing him the opportunity to explore opportunities outside of Bloomington. He joins teammates Peyton Ramsey (quarterback) and Coy Cronk (offensive lineman) to hit the portal.
Cronk has already landed a new home at Iowa.
247Sports reported the news on Walker, who will have two years of eligibility remaining. Last season, Walker appeared in all 13 games for the Hoosiers, taking 27 carries for 80 yards. He also had 12 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.
Walker was a member of a loaded backfield that included Stevie Scott and Sampson James. Scott was the team’s leading rusher this past season, rushing for 845 yards and 10 touchdowns on the year. James totaled 275 yards and three scores for the Hoosiers.
Indiana is coming off its best season in over two decades, ending with an 8-5 record and playing in the Gator Bowl.
In two seasons with the Hoosiers, Walker piled up 221 rushing yards and scored three total touchdowns. He was a former three-star prospect and was ranked as the No. 19 running back in the 2018 recruiting class.
