Indiana lands 5-star PF in 2022 cycle, now owns B1G's top-ranked hoops class
It only took Mike Woodson one full recruiting class to get Indiana back on top of the B1G.
Monday, the Hoosiers received a pledge from 5-star power forward Malik Reneau, who announced his decision on Twitter. He’s the fourth player in the 2022 recruiting cycle to commit to IU.
Reneau is the second-highest-ranked player in Indiana’s 2022 class behind only Jalen Hood-Schifino. Per 247Sports, Hood-Schifino is the No. 21 player of the cycle while Reneau is just a few spots back at No. 28.
“Lock In,” Reneau wrote on Twitter. “110% Committed.”

Reneau is listed as a 6-foot-8 power forward. He held offers from 15 other programs, picking Indiana over Florida, Florida State, Arkansas, Miami, Memphis and several other programs.
From 247Sports recruiting analyst Brandon Jenkins:
Reneau is a southpaw four man with a solid build, great hands, and an equally impressive feel for the game. He is a team-oriented player who compliments those around him with his activity on the glass, inside scoring, and passing from the high to low posts. He is a decent vertical athlete who can make the occasional wow play but for the most part Reneau is all business and fundamentals on the hardwood. With his great basketball IQ and ability to do whatever is needed for his team, Reneau tracks well as a high major all-purpose asset.
With Reneau’s commitment, Indiana now jumps to the top of the B1G recruiting rankings for the 2022 cycle. The Hoosiers also have the No. 5 class nationally.
