Indiana is getting some help on the defensive side of the ball. The Hoosiers picked up a commitment from Joshua Rudolph.

The 5-foot-11, 230-pound linebacker heads to Bloomington from Austin Peay. Rudolph saw time in 11 games as a sophomore, recording 73 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss for the Governors. As a freshman, Rudolph collected 21 tackles over 7 games.

The Hoosiers jumped out to a 3-0 start before losing eight of their final nine games to finish 4-8 overall during 2022. Furthermore, Indiana gave up 30 or more points in each of those losses, including a 45-14 drubbing to Penn State and a 56-14 defeat to Ohio State.

The Hoosiers are hoping the addition of Rudolph gives them more depth in its front seven. Linebacker Aaron Casey, who led Indiana with 85 total tackles, has one year of eligibility remaining.

The Hoosiers will look to replace senior linebacker Bradley Jennings Jr., who finished with 56 total tackles. Let’s see if Rudolph can come in and replace some of that production.
